Nationwide, a Fortune 100 insurance and financial services mutual, recently celebrated the achievements of its innovative employees who have been actively inventing and patenting novel solutions. The company recognized 39 Nationwide inventors at the inaugural Nationwide Patent Award Ceremony, acknowledging their combined 55 patents and 21 patents pending from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

“Invention is the most important product of man’s creative brain,” wrote Nikola Tesla, emphasizing the significance of innovation in shaping the world. Tesla further highlighted, “The ultimate purpose is the complete mastery over the material world, the harnessing of human nature to human needs.”

During the ceremony, Nationwide Chief Customer, Strategy, and Innovation Officer Mike Mahaffey expressed the company's commitment to redefining the concept of a protection company. Mahaffey stated, “Nationwide is on a journey to push the boundaries of what it means to be a protection company," and elaborated on the company's focus on introducing new processes, products, and technologies to fulfill their customer-driven mission of protecting people, businesses, and futures with extraordinary care.

The event not only celebrated the past achievements of the Nationwide inventors but also signaled the company's dedication to continuous innovation and the development of solutions that cater to evolving customer needs.
