The visit of Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman to Baltimore on April 4 is set to address the economic impact of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse on small businesses. Guzman, representing the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will be joined by key figures such as U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, Congressman Kweisi Mfume, and Mayor Brandon Scott for discussions and tours aimed at highlighting federal resources available for affected businesses.

Guzman will engage in a closed-press roundtable with Senator Cardin, Rep. Mfume, and Mayor Scott to listen to the challenges faced by small business owners in the wake of the bridge collapse. This will be followed by a tour of an SBA Business Recovery Center and media availability session. Governor Wes Moore will also participate in a press conference with Administrator Guzman to provide updates on the SBA's economic recovery efforts.

"In the wake of the bridge collapse, the SBA has made low-interest, long-term Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) available to affected business owners to help them overcome temporary loss of revenue," stated the SBA in its efforts to support businesses during this challenging time.

The day's schedule includes a tour of the Business Recovery Center and Media Availability session at 12:15 p.m. ET, where Administrator Guzman, Senator Cardin, Congressman Mfume, and Mayor Scott will be present. The press conference with Governor Wes Moore is set for 3:00 p.m. ET at the Maryland Transportation Authority Police Headquarters in Dundalk, MD.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, as the go-to resource for small businesses, aims to empower entrepreneurs and business owners with the necessary support to start, grow, expand, or recover from disasters. Through a network of field offices and partnerships, the SBA provides vital services to help businesses thrive.
