Graduates earn 2,660 degrees, certificates from Chippewa Valley Technical College


About 38.5 percent of the 2,660 degrees and certificates handed out by Chippewa Valley Technical College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Claire conferred 702 certificates and 321 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide. Data shows the school gave out 381 certificates in nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide, followed by 179 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 150 certificates in emergency medical technology/technician (emt paramedic).

The college enrolled 7,134 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
