FOX CITIES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Liz Rice Janzen named Ascension Mercy Health Foundation Director

Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 15.

Liz Rice Janzen has been promoted to Foundation Director, leading the Ascension Mercy Health Foundation. In this role, she will be responsible for leading strategy, fundraising, board relations and donor engagement. She previously served as a grant writer and then as foundation officer for Ascension Mercy Health Foundation.

“Liz has been a valued partner for Ascension Mercy Hospital through her dedication and work with the Mercy Health Foundation,” says Denise R. Parrish, RN, MSN, NE-BC, Chief Administrative Officer and VP of Patient Care Services at Ascension Mercy. “Support from the Foundation has touched the lives of all of our patients, especially in cancer and cardiac care.”

Adds Bill Behlman, Chair of the Mercy Health Foundation Board of Trustees, “Liz’s leadership, dedication and success over the past years with Ascension Mercy Health Foundation make her ideal for the role of Foundation Director.”

She brings great commitment and skill to her work in support Ascension Mercy Hospital, and I’m delighted to welcome her to this leadership role,” says Lisa A. Froemming, Vice President for Philanthropy, Ascension Wisconsin.

Mercy has always been Oshkosh’s community hospital. As Foundation Director, with the commitment of our talented board and the philanthropic support of our amazing donors, we have the opportunity to ‘do good’ and make a difference in the health of individuals in our community.”

Liz’s Oshkosh connections go back more than thirty years, when she and her husband Roy moved to Oshkosh. Their children attended Oshkosh schools and their son is now also raising his family in the city.

She has deep ties to the community, supporting Junior Achievement, the Winnebago County Literacy Council, and the Oshkosh Area School District. She was a 4H leader, and is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Oshkosh, a member of the Oshkosh Rotary, served on the Parent Connection Advisory Board. and belongs to Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. She and Roy have volunteered with the National Ski Patrol for more than 40 years.
