Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 30.
Looking to jam? The Building for Kids Children’s Museum (BFKCM) will have free admission for Music Makers Free Day Saturday, August 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event, created in partnership with Mile of Music, will feature music programs from the Mile of Music Education Team, plus other music and art activities.
Along with the musical programs that will be happening all day long, families can enjoy the BFKCM exhibits, create musical instruments in the da Vinci Studio and do sound experiments in the Innovation Lab.
“Musicinspires creativity and self-expression as well as encouraging areas of social development and education,” said Jarrad Bittner, Executive Director at the BFKCM. “It also creates a sense of community, something you can share with others. With the help of the Mile of Music Education Team, we have created an event that encourages learning, imagination and family-interaction.”

Musical fun for everyone! A mix of music, storytelling the whole family will enjoy.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.– Studio Saturday
Come and create castanets.
10:30 a.m.– Stories that Sing
Watch, listen and interact with lively storytellers as they bring picture books to life with song, dance and a ton of fun.
11:30 a.m. – Puddle Jumpers
Puddle Jumpers is an early learning program featuring music, movement, language and storytelling.
1:00 p.m.– Duke Otherwise
A wordsmith and spirited performer. Enjoy hilarious and imaginative songs that will delight all ages.
2:30 p.m. – Mini Mile of Music Sing-Along
Songs, dancing, and music games for little ones.
