About 51.4 percent of the 897 degrees and certificates handed out by the Mid-State Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Rapids conferred 366 certificates and 95 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 236 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 60 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 59 associate's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The college enrolled 2,760 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
