About 19.4 percent of the 1,398 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Falls conferred 178 bachelor's degrees and 93 master's degrees in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 141 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 104 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General and 87 bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Teaching.

The university enrolled 5,938 students for 2016-17, including 5,494 in undergraduate programs and 444 in graduate programs.
