About 17.9 percent of the 2,311 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Crosse conferred 397 bachelor's degrees and 16 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Data shows the school gave out 228 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, followed by 186 bachelor's degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and 175 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General.

The university enrolled 10,637 students for 2016-17, including 9,751 in undergraduate programs and 886 in graduate programs.
