About 42.3 percent of the 2,222 degrees and certificates handed out by the Chippewa Valley Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Claire conferred 696 certificates and 244 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 354 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 140 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 132 certificates in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic).

The college enrolled 6,584 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
