About 46.1 percent of the 529 degrees and certificates handed out by the Blackhawk Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Janesville conferred 166 certificates and 78 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 88 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 39 certificates in Welding Technology/Welder and 37 certificates in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic).

The college enrolled 2,034 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
