About 29.6 percent of the 540 degrees and certificates handed out by the Alverno College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Milwaukee conferred 117 bachelor's degrees and 36 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 113 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 50 bachelor's degrees in General Studies and 47 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The college enrolled 2,017 students for 2016-17, including 1,413 in undergraduate programs and 604 in graduate programs.
