About 42.7 percent of the 1,938 degrees and certificates handed out by the Waukesha County Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Pewaukee conferred 686 certificates and 141 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 454 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 122 certificates in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) and 110 certificates in Truck and Bus Driver/Commercial Vehicle Operator and Instructor.

The college enrolled 7,947 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
