About 57 percent of the 703 degrees and certificates handed out by the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Fennimore conferred 301 certificates and 100 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide. Data shows the school gave out 184 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, followed by 57 certificates in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) and 55 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The college enrolled 2,039 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
